Retaliatory Operation in Response to Border Violations — Statement by the Ministry of Defense
Tonight, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan carried out a well-planned and successful retaliatory operation against several positions of the Pakistani military along the Durand Line. This operation was conducted in direct response to Pakistan’s repeated violations of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and the recent airstrikes carried out on Afghan territory. Our forces targeted specific military objectives and successfully achieved all of their operational goals.
The operation concluded around midnight, after which Afghan units maintained full control and readiness along the border. The Armed Forces of the Islamic Emirate remain fully prepared and vigilant to defend the nation’s borders and ensure the safety of its people.
We clearly warn Pakistan to respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. If Pakistani forces once again violate our borders, our armed forces will respond swiftly, effectively, and decisively to protect our homeland and our citizens.
We also call on the international community and regional partners to condemn such irresponsible actions that increase tensions in the region, and to contribute to peaceful and lasting solutions. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks peace and good relations with its neighbors — but there will be no compromise when it comes to defending our sovereignty and our borders.
