In September 2025, during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, U.S. President Donald Trump made several controversial claims. His address was centered around the “America First” policy, strongly rejecting globalism.
Trump claimed that in just eight months of his presidency, he had ended seven “endless wars.” He also took credit for reducing tensions between India and Pakistan, and between Israel and Iran. However, these claims are misleading. India and Pakistan were not in an open war, but rather facing border tensions. Similarly, Israel and Iran were never in a direct war, and there has been no real improvement in their relations. Meanwhile, Trump failed to resolve actual ongoing conflicts during his time, such as the Israel-Palestine war and the Russia-Ukraine war.
In his speech, he also criticized Europe’s immigration and environmental policies, saying these countries were being destroyed because of them. These are false, far-right talking points that he repeated. He even called climate change a “con job” and the green energy movement a “scam.” This view directly contradicts the overwhelming consensus of the global scientific community, which sees climate change as a serious threat.
Trump further claimed that he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for his so-called achievements. While some of his supporters, including in Pakistan, had once nominated him, he has never actually received the prize. He also attacked London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan with a false allegation, saying Khan wanted to impose Sharia law in London—a baseless claim Trump had already made back in 2019, now repeated again.
