Lahore — Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka has once again set Indian media ablaze with his latest statement. Speaking after the match, he praised Pakistani fans in a way that instantly won millions of hearts.
Asalanka said:
“Today, the Pakistani crowd supported us even more than Pakistan! It honestly felt like we were playing in Colombo.”
He added:
“I had heard about the love of Pakistani fans, but now I’ve witnessed it myself.”
“This was my first experience where the opposition crowd cheered for us instead of their own team.”
“These moments will stay with me forever.”
On security, he did not hold back:
“The security protocol we are getting here is unmatched. I would love to come here again and again to play cricket.”
Regarding the match, Asalanka admitted:
“Babar Azam’s brilliant batting didn’t let us win. We’ll try our best to make a strong comeback in the next game.”
